World-famous ballet dancers to perform in Cape Town

Travellers on flights to Cape Town could decide to take in a performance of Swan Lake during their visit as some of the world's best dancers are set to take part in a production.

The Artscape Opera House is set to play host to the iconic ballet, which opens at the venue on August 19th 2011.

It will then run until August 26th, with director Elizabeth Triegaart producing her interpretation on Tchaikovsky's masterpiece.

The Cape Philharmonic Orchestra will be accompanying the dancers, with special guests Daria Klimentova and her partner Vadim Muntagirov at selected performances.

Advice for keeping comfortable when flying

Heavy snow expected for Christchurch

People heading on flights to Christchurch in order to enjoy winter sports this weekend could be pleased to hear that heavy snowfall is predicted.

As much as 20 cm of snow has been predicted to fall on Canterbury between August 14th and 17th 2011, according to New Zealand's Blue Skies forecasters.

"Accumulations could easily exceed 50cm over three days above 200m," the service predicted, stating that it could be similar to levels which were recorded a couple of weeks ago.

Melbourne to stage Lady Gaga-themed fashion show
