Brisbane 'to become Australia's rugby union heartland'

Rugby fans may be tempted to book flights to Brisbane over the coming months and years thanks to a major new agreement between the Australian Rugby Union and the Queensland government.

Under the ten-year deal, the state will become the country's "heartland" for international rugby union, with numerous high-profile games set to take place at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.

The venue will stage a Bledisloe Cup Test between the Wallabies and New Zealand every time the three-game campaign takes place in Australia, as well as the opening match of every series against a northern hemisphere team.
