South Africa visitors urged to catch Royal Show

Families and animal lovers alike are advised to fit in a trip to the Royal Show during their South African summer holiday.

Starting on Friday (May 27th), the ten-day festival features a wide range of attractions, including live music concerts, chainsaw racing, show jumping, fireworks displays and animal shows.

Celebrating its 160th anniversary, the highly popular event expects to draw around a quarter of a million visitors to the KwaZulu-Natal Showground, including many overseas guests on flights to South Africa.

Wilderness resort to open in Australia's Northern Territory

Brits looking to explore the Northern Territory after arriving on flights to Australia have been given a new option for staying in the wilderness in comfort.

Seven Spirit Bay Eco-Wilderness Resort is due to open this weekend (May 15th), with a choice of motel-style rooms and luxury 'habitats'.

The resort was formerly known as Peppers Seven Spirit Bay, but has undergone a serious facelift over the past 17 months.

Guests can enjoy the remote surroundings of the Cobourg Peninsula, and the resort is just a short walk from the shores of the Arafura Sea.
